Orchard Street Victorian - Somerville, MA
This 1898 Somerville Victorian had been in the same family for over 60 years, never converted to a multi-family, and still full of original details. We partnered with New England Design & Construction on a design and renovation that preserved the home’s historic framework while creating moments of contrast and quiet drama. The kitchen and bathrooms lean stark and sculptural, with dark cabinetry, soapstone, and clean-lined lighting. In contrast, the living spaces layer pattern, texture, and warmth, creating an aesthetic rooted in tradition but far from staid. The home feels cohesive and more in tune with what our clients need for their growing family.
